Earlier this week I asked you what your biggest !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is. Today I ask the opposite. What is your favorite feeling and what causes it? Personally, my favorite feeling is the sheer joy when karma kicks someone else in the nads.
Take someone who is driving extremely aggressively, cutting people off, and tailgating. I think it is utterly hilarious when they change lanes, only to get caught behind a slow driver with no room to return to the moving lane. Karma, bitch. Same thing as when someone barely misses you while speeding down the highway, and immediately gets pulled over.
Here's a Jeep Cherokee SRT8 I saw yesterday. I've seen it a few times around my neighborhood.

Whenever I fix something, and I ACTUALLY FIX IT. Other than that it must be driving a shitty cheap FWD and do better than people driving expensive AWDs in the snow :P

acceleration, caused by the go pedal. Also when I make a nice smooth shift

Dropping down a gear and flooring it under an overpass.
Yes, I'm a twelve year old on the inside.

I was going to say flooring it and hearing induction noise, but I'm afraid I agree with you. Some people do things for money, some others do it out of love. But there's no feeling quite as good as spite.

Whenever I take my CR-V off-road.
It's like this ritual cleansing of soft-roader portents, nevermind the fact it gets unreasonably dirty.

Acceleration.

when I feather the throttle it makes a bunch of popping and crackling noises I get the biggest stupidest smile on my face

Oh God, my car looks like yours did. Like somebody rubbed it with a spruce tree.
I wish I had a garage so I could try my hand at detailing before we sell it this spring. Oh well...

Feeling the wind from the windows or top down, while flooring it and listening to the beautiful music of the engine.

We oppos are all that 12 year old. We wouldn't be here in this place if we weren't.

Flooring it in a tunnel with the windows down and sunroof open to hear that straight 6 sing, all while at the same time being shoved back into the seat because POWER.

A 3rd gear pull to redline in an S38 BMW is pretty up there for me. A joyful noise supported by a well of power.

Same as yours. Seeing aggressive idiots get pulled over or held up by "slow" people.

The feeling of hitting VTEC. People joke about it often but it truly is something amazing that never gets old.

Especially when it's a douchebag driving a sportscar. The look on their face is priceless.

I miss my old E28 M5 every day for that reason.

I need some serious snow meltage so I can do my car again for the spring. Good luck selling it! (What is it?)

ugh mine too. Hopefully in a month all of the snow we got up here melts and we get some rain to wash the salt away

I love my E34 and I imagine an E28 wouldn't leave me wanting for more
![]() 03/07/2015 at 17:08 |

I actually prefer the E34 engine, because the reworked plenum& other tweaks give it better torque down low, and an even greater scream at high rpm. The 28 is the chassis for me, though. I hope to have another someday.

If you check out my history you'll see how much I love my E34

2008 VW Passat wagon, black. The precious owners were not kind to the paint. I'm going to wax it like a madman before putting it up for sale, in ghebhope I can make it a bit presentable.

Almost any drive with the top down and the sounds of V8 with blower whine and open exhausts is pleasing to the soul. But, the ultimate exaltation is hard to describe and rare. Its those brief glimpses into nirvana when you know you're "In The Zone." I've experienced this both in automobiles and aircraft and its a feeling, not like a high, but an ascension. When you find that perfect racing line, your car's at full-tilt and you effortlessly embrace each transition. In the air, its like becoming the aircraft - every input, every molecule of air, you feel it you sense it: you ride the edge of the envelope like a graceful figure skater... and your opponent falls prey to your mastery of air, space, and time.
The closest visual I've ever seen was the final race scene of Biker Boyz (minus all the distracting memories).

totally agree - that and the hot, late brake 4-3 downshift into a fast corner then rocketing out. It's like a dance.
